How to test your samples

Getting a fair result from your samples before you commit to production.

Written by Nick Lewis

Step 1 of 3 · Samples

Testing samples: use each product as directed, compare side by side with what you use today and keep a short note per product. Read next: What happens after you have tested your samples.

Test each sample the way your customers will use the finished product. A fair test now saves a change of plan later.

  • Use the product as its product page and technical data sheet describe, and dilute concentrates at the stated rate.

  • Test against the product you sell or use today, on the same surface, on the same day.

  • Judge what matters to your customers, such as cleaning power, foam, slickness, gloss, scent strength, ease of rinsing and the finish it leaves.

  • Keep a short note per product: what you liked, what you would change and how it compared.

  • Samples come in our standard fragrance and colour. You choose yours at production, so judge the base product rather than the scent or shade of the sample.

Give protection products more than one try. Sealants, waxes and tyre dressings are best judged over a few weeks of use.

Your next step: When you have finished testing, reply to us to request production pricing.
