How proofs work and what to check before you approve one.

Before approving a label proof, check spelling, contents, hazard information, business details, barcodes and colours. Read next: Lead times from paid invoice to finished stock.

Your labels are proofed before printing, whether we designed them or you supplied the artwork.

  • Your own artwork. Once your production invoice is paid, we check your files, add the CLP hazard information if it is missing, and send you a proof.

  • Chemsol design. Our design team sends you a proof of your labels, including the CLP hazard information.

Check these before you approve

  • Spelling, and that each product name matches the product you ordered.

  • Contents and pack size.

  • The hazard information, exactly as supplied, with nothing resized or removed.

  • Your business name, address and telephone number.

  • Your barcode numbers.

  • Colours. Proofs are viewed on screen and labels print in CMYK, so very bright, neon or metallic tones can look different in print.

Reply to the proof with your approval or the exact changes you need. Printing starts after you approve the proof, so check it carefully.
