We provide the hazard information for your label. Marketing claims are yours as the brand owner, and some claims carry legal requirements.
Performance claims. Describe what the product does in use, and back any comparison with your own testing.
Environmental claims. Green claims must be clear, accurate and backed by evidence, in line with the Green Claims Code from the Competition and Markets Authority. Avoid blanket claims such as biodegradable or eco-friendly unless you can support them for that product.
Products with a hazard classification. Under CLP, the label and packaging must not carry statements such as non-toxic, non-harmful, non-polluting or ecological, or anything else that plays down the hazard.
Antibacterial, disinfectant or kills germs. Claims like these make a product a biocidal product, which must meet the GB Biocidal Products Regulation before it can be sold. Do not use them on general cleaning products.
Pet products. Avoid claims about fleas, parasites, skin conditions or any medical effect. Keep to cleaning and coat condition.
Ceramic and SiO2. Only use these terms where the formula contains them, and base any durability claim on your own testing.
If we spot a claim on your artwork that may be a problem, we will point it out, but responsibility for marketing claims stays with you as the brand owner.
Your next step: Write your label copy before your artwork is checked, so any claims can be settled before printing.
